Easy to use, cheap, good sensitivity
I used one of these for a curb-side Halloween display, and it was sensitive enough to pick up not only pedestrians, but cars reliably. The output signal is nicely conditioned from a time standpoint; it goes TRUE for a minimum of about two seconds when motion is detected, and stays up as long as theres motion. This damped response makes it easy to use the signal in a slow power-saving loop. I do wish that the output was more powerful - its only 300uA at 3V. In order to reliably detect the signal, I used an analog input on the Arduino, since 3V is barely above the ambiguous range for a digital input. Overall though, its easy to use, works great, and you cant beat the price!

Great
Suprisingly accurate and easy to work with. Also they tend to be on the cheaper side for PIR

area sensing of human activity
Experimented with this ultra simple sensor in many ways and found it to be highly accurate in its motion sensing capability. I would surely incorporate this device in new product design if there were some realistic expectation of continued availability.
